resolve it can be accomplished.
Firstly, you have to make a conscious decision to stop smoking. You have to analyze
for yourself as to why you want to quit smoking. There must be valid
reasons for it including, spoilt health or probably your becoming a
social outcast. A look at the various benefits that you are to derive

towards quitting. Weigh the pros and cons and take your decision.
You
need to have a great deal of motivation behind the planning to quit so
that your resolve to quit may not get weakened. Try and make a list of
all the things that you like about smoking and all the things that you
don't. You'll probably discover that the list of
why-I-don't-like-smoking is longer than why-I-like-it. That itself might
propel you to quit smoking.
Think about the people who quit smoking and prolong their lives which also take a turn for better. Why
can't you do the same for yourself? Think of all the health benefits
that you will enjoy and how the quality of your life will become better.
It is also very important to believe in yourself and your ability to quit.
If need be, talk to somebody who can lend you support or a good hearing.
Probably that person may also be able to offer you solutions and a pep
talk on how to quit smoking.
Whenever you think that you have resisted the urge to smoke, reward
yourself with something good. It could be a dinner or a movie. In fact,
these are also great ways to keep your mind distracted from smoking.
There may be certain triggers which might break your resolve to
quit. Try and keep these triggers away from yourself. Also, adopt a
regular exercise schedule. Apart from giving you a great body, it will
boost your self-esteem and increase stamina.
Once you have
decided to quit smoking, you can decide the plan of action that you are
to follow to achieve your target. Do you want to seek medical help or
try out natural cures, what will you do when the temptation would strike
and in what alternate way will you satisfy that temptation? These are
some of the questions that you need to ask yourself.
Studies have
shown that the more a person tries to quit, the better his resolve
becomes. There is no need to be disappointed if you can not do it for
the first time. Try, try and try till you succeed!
So, once the
resolve has been made, stick to it. After all, that is the only way to
fructify your thought. Best of luck!
