Nicotine Nasal Spray- A Mist to Satisfy Cravings Quickly

User Rating:  / 0
Of the several nicotine replacement therapies available, the nicotine nasal spray is the strongest and meant for heavy smokers who find it hard to quit smoking using other methods. Nicotine nasal sprays, as the name suggests, deliver a fast-acting nicotine spray into the nose which is absorbed into the bloodstream and transported to the brain in as little as 10 minutes. These sprays are the closest it can get to cigarettes.

The solvent containing nicotine comes in a spray pump and needs to be sprayed once in each nostril. Every two sprays deliver 1 milligram of nicotine to the body, which is roughly equivalent to smoking 1 cigarette. The inner lining of the nose quickly absorbs the nicotine and the user feels a rush almost immediately.

How it works:

Users are advised to administer the spray once or twice an hour for the results to be beneficial in the process of quitting smoking. However, no more than 40 sprays should be administered per 24 hours.

The recommended plan is to use the nicotine nasal spray over a duration of 12 weeks. Begin with one or two doses an hour and gradually decrease it week by week. At the end of 12 weeks you should be able to free yourself totally from the addiction of smoking.

The nicotine nasal spray should not be used for more than six months at a stretch. If you are not able to reduce dependency on the spray even after six months, you should consult a doctor.
